The Loazzolo Ecosystem Tour
The Loazzolo Ecosystem Tour
Understanding the local varieties and the unique characteristics of the Terroir at Loazzolo where the vines are encroached with the forest.
DURATION: 1 houre 30 minutes
Start at the vineyard’s cantina, and begin walking up the lush green steep hill. In just a few minutes you will arrive to the vineyard called La Vela (there is also a tour dedicated to La Vela) at the altitude of 500 meters above sea level with south east exposure. At this point you have the first look at the natural amphitheatre of Borgo Isolabella where one can appreciate just by looking around the dominance of the forest with respect to the vines and where two very different elements interlock.
The itinerary then continues along the South West rim of our vineyard all the way up 560 meters above sea level where you find our Sauvignon Blanc and where you will begin to descend across the forest until you reach the vineyard Mongardino where you will trek across the center of Borgo Isolabella.
The tour was created to give a general vision of Borgo Isolabella and in appreciation of all of it’s varieties.
The tour is open to a wide public from those who are wine enthusiasts to those who would like to experience viniculture for the first time: a expert of not only the territory but as well as our agricultural practices will be present to guide you through the tour and can help explain clearly any of your questions from the vine to the wine.
You can walk along this tour with walking shoes and clothing suitable for the country. We propose, however, to try the Nordic Walking technique involving the use of chopsticks and a specific walking technique designed to stimulate all the major muscles, similar to cross country skiing: arms and shoulders are involved actively making the exercise more effective. It is also easy to practice, a natural movement with alternating rhythm.
The goal is to give ample representation of the terroir and particularly the perfumes of our wine at Loazzolo.
1)two wines of your choice from our Alta Collina collection (example: Mariateresa Barbera D’Asti, Le Marne blend, Moscato D’Asti)
2)two wines from our CRU selection (ex: our Loazzolo DOC having won multiple times both gold and silver medals at the most important wine competition for its type: Muscat du Munde in Languedoc Roussillon, France; il Barbera Superiore, il Nizza, il Brachetto 36, e il Superlodo)
Upon request, one can also choose to taste our Pinot Noir.

The Inimitable Vineyard
Vela wine Pinot nero of Loazzolo
11,000 vines per hectare: the pinot nero grown with this exceptional vine density was planted in 2007 (in France and Italy, vineyards are already considered intensive from 4,500 vines per hectare). Such density forces the vines to reduce their foliage and concentrate their essences into the grapes.
Moscato of Loazzolo
The "late" harvest of the Moscato di Loazzolo
Produced grapes must be late harvested in order to obtain a large sugar gradient (14-15 ° to the grape harvest) and let it dry for a few months on canes racks in a special place called “drying fruit room"; attached by the noble mold, is subsequently hand-selected.
The Natural Amphitheatre
Borgo Isolabella in Loazzolo
Eleven hectares of vines nestled among the woods, perched on magnificently exposed but incredibly steep slopes, in a unique natural symphony.
